‘Mina’ Caputo, singer of Life of Agony, came out as a trans woman ten years ago. Since then, Mina has also gone through life as a woman. Today, however, the artist makes the remarkable choice to be a man again: “From now on, I am Keith again.” Caputo himself said this on social media.
In 2011, Keith chose to have gender reassignment surgery and live as a woman. Now, however, he believes he has been cured of his gender dysphoria and wants to be a man again. “It took years, but I now feel comfortable with my biological gender again,” he explains. “I’ve actually always been a man. A few years ago I stopped taking hormones. I will soon undergo surgery to have my breasts removed.” The singer expects his ‘detransition’ to be completed next year.
Keith received a lot of hate comments after he announced his decision. “I don’t understand why so many people feel the need to call me names, or to say that I hate transgender people?” Keith recently spoke out against allowing trans women in sports competitions and beauty pageants, which provoked many reactions. “I have made a personal choice that is best for me, I stand firm in my shoes.”
