Four individuals, including two Tunisian minors and an Algerian in an irregular situation, are accused of having organized meetings with homosexual people in order to “punish” them. They were arrested in Saint-Pol-sur-Mer. The process is reminiscent of that of Philippe’s attackers in the nearby town of Grande Synthe.

On April 23, the JDD learned from a police source that four individuals – two Tunisian minors, a French adult, and an Algerian adult in an irregular situation – had been arrested in the morning in Saint-Pol-sur-Mer (in the North, near Grande Synthe) for extortion with weapons by an organized gang, criminal conspiracy and kidnapping by an organized gang.

As in the Philippe Coopman case, the people arrested are accused of having arranged to meet their victims via the Coco dating site in order to physically attack them, rob them, and use their bank cards. The suspects in this new case are said to have targeted homosexual victims in particular in order to “punish” them. At the end of their misdeeds, they allegedly made contactless purchases with stolen cards and tried to withdraw money from the ATM.

Ce 23 avril, le JDD a appris de source policière que quatre individus – deux mineurs tunisiens, un Français majeur et Algérien majeur en situation irrégulière – avaient été interpellés dans la matinée à Saint-Pol-sur-Mer (dans le Nord, près de Grande Synthe) pour extorsion avec arme en bande organisée, association de malfaiteurs et séquestration en bande organisée.
De même que dans l’affaire Philippe Coopman, les personnes interpellées sont accusées d’avoir donné rendez-vous à leurs victimes via le site de rencontre Coco, afin de les agresser physiquement, de les détrousser et d’exploiter leur carte bancaire. Les suspects dans ce nouveau dossier auraient ciblé en particulier des victimes homosexuelles, afin de les « punir ». À l’issue de leurs méfaits, ils auraient réalisé des achats sans contact avec des cartes volées et tenté retirer de l’argent au distributeur.
